Srinagar, June 24 (KNO) : As the gossip lounges across Kashmir are ripe with the debates about the possibility of dialogue between New Delhi and Hurriyat in the wake of Governor Satya Pal Malik’s assertions that Hurriyat was ready for talks, senior BJP leader Avinash Khanna today said that dialogue with Hurriyat will be held but without any violation to constitution. According to KNO correspondent, Khanna while talking to reporters after reviewing the party’s functioning in Srinagar said that Centre was open for dialogue with the Hurriyat leaders but within the ambit of Indian constitution. “BJP is open for talks and Hurriyat leaders are own people not aliens, they are the residents of J&K so they are most welcome to talk to us including the Prime Minister Narendra Modi but within the ambit of Indian constitution. Dialogue in violation of constitution won’t be allowed,” Khanna said. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi was gradually creating a peaceful atmosphere in Kashmir so that the trust and the confidence of everybody is won. Stating that Prime Minister has floated the idea of “Sab Ka Vishwas”, Khanna said that its time to win the confidence of everybody as that will be the tribute to the mass mandate people of India have given to the BJP. Earlier, Hurriyat Conference (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq had stated that his amalgam was ready for talks with the GoI as the Hurriyat “always believed that dialogue was a means of conflict resolution.” Mirwaiz was responding to Governor Satya Pal Malik’s announcement at SKICC that “it was encouraging to see that Hurriyat leaders were now for talks.” The BJP leader also reviewed the functioning of the party stating that it eyes on increasing the 20 per cent more members to its kitty. “We will be launching a membership drive form July 6 across country,” Khanna said, adding that there will be every effort to engage more and more people to the party fold.(KNO)
